Brief
Create a durable interactive tree house for children to climb on.
Client
Auckland Museum Trust
Finished Results / Interesting Notes
A steel framework was constructed and bolted together giving the branches the strength required for children to climb them. The tree-house was fabricated from drift-wood and sand-blasted pine. The key was to create the house and give the appearance of a 'knocked together' effort whilst remaining structurally sound and engineered.
The tree-house, which is the centrepiece of Auckland Museum's "Wild Child" exhibition, is the most popular section in the entire museum.
